With the Haliburton Scottish Country Dancers, you will exercise your body and your mind, and enjoy yourself with congenial people and colourful Scottish dress and music. Learn the steps and formations of new and traditional Scottish dances, such as jigs, strathspeys and reels. We are active all year learning new dances and practising older ones under the direction of a dedicated and very knowledgeable instructor. Twice a year in the Fall and Spring we have a formal dance which a number of neighbouring groups attend. We are active in the community regularly giving demonstrations at seniors' residences, county fairs and of course, the Haliburton Highland Games and Burn's Night ceilidhs. These last two events are presented in co-operation with the Haliburton Highlands Pipes and Drums. Come to the ceilidh Fri., (T.B.A.), 7:30 p.m. at the Haliburton Legion and stay for the Highland Games on Saturday in Haliburton Village. |
